Memories of Iowa

Two things happened last night:

1) Arranged to go for a beer with some friends from work
2) Second celebrity siting

So, on our way to the bar, Mary Ann and I were walking a few blocks to Daltons. Pretty good bar, similar to the Cedar Brew Company in Cedar Rapids and we were meeting Sarah, Heather and Trevor and a few others.

On our way, we walked past Alan Rickman (Robin Hood Men in Tights, Dogma etc). He looked like a nutty professor with sandy/grey hair....nothing like his usual dark look. Pretty cool though. I'm keeping a running list....I guess that's what you do when you get to NYC!!

At the bar, had a couple of drinks then started on some shots. So, Penny - I introduced the crowd to Surfers on Acid. Even better, when I started explaining to a barman how to make it I got the "I know what it is....". They went down well, so after a few of those Trev and i ended up on the way home. Got some fond memories of Fridays in Muddy Waters....was pretty cool. Food wasn't too bad....but I pined for the fun Friday nights in IA.

We're moving again this weekend to our 3rd temporary apartment. Hopefully this will be the final temporary move. Shouldn't take too long although we have to go and pick up a bed in Princeton. Craigslist is a lifesaver....for $75 I've got a king bed that's a few years old, seemed cheaper and easier than trying to get our bed out of storage. This is all I need as the weather will be so hot....yippee!
