Catch up

The week flew by - I can'tbelieve I haven't done a single update. So here goes.

The weekend was awesome - spent most of my time with Tim except for Sunday morning when I met Diana for coffee to catch up. We never got to update our CVs/resumes which is a tradition of ours - usually copious amounts of gin and tonic and a lot of laughing. We ended up watching James Bond's movie instead. It was great.

Monday's trip to London was horrible. I'd bought a first class ticket so I could work, and apparently because it was a bank holiday they had closed part of the train line (!). This resulted in the journey being part done on a bus. It was horrible. The usually 1 hour 15 min journey was 2.5 hours. It sucked. Once I got to London it was chucking down with rain - given I was meeting a colleague to show her around London that wasn't fun. We went out to London Bridge, walked past the Tower of London and then over Tower Bridge (the pretty one!). Was pretty good. Before dinner I actually got some exercise in - 20 mins on a stair master. Unheard of that I actually choose to exercise rather than veg out.

On Tuesday the work part of my trip began. While it was long days it was fruitful. It was great to meet other colleagues from around the world and put plans in place for the next year or so. I won't bore you with details here but it was good working with these people - although apparently I'm too creative and not falling in line with the global view. This is not what my boss thinks, but her "functional" manager. Essentially I'm doing what I'm asked....but they don't like it. Hey ho - I wouldn't want it easy, would I?
Now's the time I'm looking for Jamaica. I wish I knew if Peter and Carrieanne were going to come with us - I truly hope so - we'll find out soon enough. Mum and Dad are now booking their tickets so they're planning for their month long trip - not only NYC but up to New England, probably Niagara Falls etc etc.
Trev got back home last night so we plan on having a pretty quiet weekend. An hour from now I'll be getting my ass kicked in the gym. I can honestly say I've missed it - which is kinda scary, right?
