Connecticut

We had a great time over the holiday weekend. We met up with loads of friends and spent a great deal of time just hanging out. It was most relaxing. See the pics below.

11-26-08 Thanksgiving at Melissa's

Melissa and Merina drove down to us on Wednesday night so they could go to the Macy's Parade in the city - Trev and I stayed away. Call us boring...but we have enough of tourists on a normal day.....:) Then, we all drove back to Melissa's on Thursday afternoon. Not the best journey (nearly 4 hours for 120 miles...) but we had a great Thanksgiving dinner with everyone.

I had my first foray into 4am shopping on Black Friday. It was crazy. Up at 3.15am, at Kohls for 4am, Walmart for 5am, breakfast at 7.30am and then back out at lunch time. OMG - it was craaaazzzzzyyyyyy. Kohls was just boring and the lines way too long. Walmart was just incredible. There were thousands of people lined up waiting for the doors to open at 5am.....and by the time we got in there were people everywhere. I've never seen such an angry set of people. There were people stealing stuff out of other's carts, when we were in line a lady tried to push in which resulted in the police being called and her nearly being escorted off the premises. Unbelieveable. Isn't this the season of goodwill? When we got home we heard about the guy in Long Island, NY who was trampled to death. Good grief. What is the world coming to. In the afternoon we went to a regular mall and that was much more serene - even Trev bought a few things.

The rest of the weekend was hanging out and playing with the dogs, Lily and Maggie. They have so much energy, and while Melissa has put up loads of fencing these canines are experts at finding their way out. Trev and I lost them at least 3 times over the weekend and had to go and get them...... it convinced me that you need a lot of space before getting dogs. Maybe when I retire:)

We had a great journey home and now we're getting ready for Carrieanne and Rachel to come on Wednesday. What a cool holiday season we're having!
